Last night we saw what will most certainly be remembered as the most talked about homerun derby runner up performances in the history of the event. Josh Hamilton sent a record 28 balls sailing into the New York sky in the first round, and in the process created a stadium full of Josh Hamilton fans. There wasn’t a single person in Yankee Stadium who felt that they hadn’t gotten their money’s worth when he was done.
A lot has been made of how great a story Josh Hamilton is, and that story just keeps getting bigger. I think the fans are in for a great All-Star Game.
