The Yankees pitching injury woes continue, as they place their premier starter on the 15 day DL with elbow tendinitis. With the club having dropped 7 out of their last ten games, losing Chamberlain comes as a real blow.
The Yankees have already lost ace starter Chen Ming Wang, as well as young guns Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy to injuries this season. Kennedy has recovered and is expected to be called up to start on Friday.
After a slow start Joba has really looked like an ace starter, going 4-3 with a 2.63 ERA in 32 games, including 12 starts.

Chump…he’s a chump. Sure he’s a good pitcher, but so is Mark Prior…oh wait is he even alive? Being a great pitcher who is always hurt makes you a chump. Plus he’s a damn New Yank Yorkee, automatic chumpness. Yes, I made that up.

You know how I feel about the Yankees, but I don’t think I’d say Joba’s a chump. I also don’t think I’d put his injury history in the same universe as Mark Prior at this point. Besides, I have a $120 baseball card of his, so his career trajectory had better take on a more positive arch than Mark Prior’s.
